The heaviness just adds to that feeling, so they're a band I only listen to on occasion.

It's not the music that makes me depressed, it's the lyrics. I wouldn't really consider "heavy" a main quality of depressive music, take Radiohead for example. Most of their songs are extremely low-key, but extremely sad.
